Welcome

I'd like to welcome everyone to the inaugural post of my new blog, cleverly called Ideas and Politics. This is going to be a blog that deals with the issues of the day in the political realm, with a focus on American domestic and foreign policy. I have been an active blog reader and writer since 2002. I have blogged most recently at Notes from the City and at my former blog, The Urban Empire. For the time being, I will use this space as a way to flesh out some of my thoughts on various issues that are pressing to the country.
